Tour the historic Wilson House open 10:00am-12:00pm ($5 per person). Last tour starts at 11:30am. Not recommended for children under 7 years old. 

Chicken feed ($1 per bag) Chickens are free-range. 

Please monitor your children while you visit our historic farmstead. Don’t forget to bring a snack or pack a picnic lunch and relax on the farm!

Meet the Sheep 

March 27, 2026 10 am -12 pm

Come meet Stella the Sheep our new mascot on our museum info signs. She loves to teach people about the farmstead!    Don’t forget to say hi to all our other animals, take a ride on the wagon, make a sheep craft, try your hand at sheep activities, and hear a sheep story. 

 

Each Little Farmer Friday is an interactive program designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups.  Most appropriate for children ages 2 to 5 years old, our program offers families the opportunity to hear a story, make a craft, meet our animals, enjoy a wagon ride, and have fun on our 4-acre farm.

 

Gates open at 10am. Activities 10am-12pm. Farm grounds close at 2pm. Bring a lunch or snack to enjoy on the farm.

Events often sell out. If the event is sold out, no tickets will be available the day of the event or at the door. 

 

All tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer one time to another Little Farmer Friday event that occurs before May 8, 2026. Transfer must be completed within 14 days of the original event date. 

Tickets that are resold will not be honored.  

There are NO third-party sales on websites. Tickets are only available at the link below. 

 

Museum Members (Family level or higher) receive one adult ticket FREE with purchase of one child’s ticket. Members will receive an email containing the access code. 

 

Parking

Free parking on Pitman Drive and east side of 1300 Custer (see map below). 

Do not park in front of businesses or private residences as they may tow your vehicle. 

 

 

Weather and Cancellations

Events are held, rain or shine. Activities take place outside on our 4-acre farmstead.  Be prepared for possible muddy conditions if it has recently rained. Check the weather the day of the event to make sure you and your little ones are dressed comfortably for the outdoors.
 

If a program is cancelled due to severe weather, the decision will be made by 8:30am on the day of the program. Refunds will be processed in these cases.

Trucks, Tractors, & Wagons! Oh My!

April 10, 2026 10 am -12 pm

Trucks, tractors, and wagons! Oh my! A farm just isn’t a farm without a tractor and here at the Heritage Farmstead Museum we have lots of old tractors and trucks. This Little Farmer Friday come and cruise around the grounds with us on your own ride (no motorized vehicles permitted). Storytime will be Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle. 

Each Little Farmer Friday is an interactive program designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups.  Most appropriate for children ages 2 to 5 years old, our program offers families the opportunity to hear a story, make a craft, meet our animals, enjoy a wagon ride, and have fun on our 4-acre farm.

Turkeyriffic Good Time

April 24, 2026 10 am -12 pm

Have you been to the farm and heard a new gobble or three? That’s our new turkeys: Bonnie, Clyde and Alex. If you haven’t met them yet, come out to the farm this Little Farmer Friday and have a gobble-wobble good time! Enjoy turkey themed crafts and activities, milk Buttermilk the mechanical milking cow, and take a ride on our tractor pulled wagon. Story, Gobble Gobble Crash! A Barnyard Counting Bash by Julie Stiegemeyer. 

10:30-12:00pm Wings & Talon experience with Blackland Prairie Raptor Center – Learn about native raptors that live on the Blackland Prairie. No live raptors present.

We’re thrilled to welcome Prophets and Outlaws, the Dallas-based Southern soul band known for their rich five-part harmonies and a dynamic sound that blends country, Southern rock, blues, and heartfelt lyrics. Their energy and authenticity will make this inaugural concert a night to remember.
